22 in fiesty red and a Happy New Year

IMG_0685
I would love to wish you all of you nice friend who read my blog a Happy New Year. We know for a fact that a New Year does'nt bring any changes. In fact we are the ones responsible to live our lives and create the changes ourselves. I am not going through the details about the rituals of a New Year but so far I know that I want to keep working hard in school and keep up with my starting job here in Haiti.
Well I don't think there is a rule against posting my fiesty red holidays photography therefore I am doing it. In retrospective, my Christmas break was wonderful, it was also the month of my birthday as well. And so RED was in the honor of being 22 and for the rest of the Chrsitmas season. Since the starts of my 20s I have had an slight obsession with flowing short dress because its my way of showing off my long legs. With this little red number, sometimes I have to pair it up with black opaque tights, depending on where I am going. Or to jazz it up a bit I add a scarf of a great noticing colors across the dress instead. This dress can be worn in so different ways for style.IMG_0686

It was an instant hit through the Haitian crowd (Haha love how I talk about this dress as if it was a song) since I received many compliments from it. Do you want to know a shocking secret about this dress?
Ah! I don't think you're ready to hear it. Ok fine, I am giving in. My mother was the one who first saw this dress and didnt stay silent about how it was the IT dress for my 22nd. I looked at the dress that hung nicely on the shop rack and I replied with a nonchallent "Hmm sure" while exploring other racks. But for some reasons, I kept going back to my mom's choice and decided to give it a chance until I put it on and then....the rest is now a beautiful love story.

Finalement 21 ans

IMG_7371

It's been awhile since I've done an outfit posts but the occasion was chosen well since Sat dec 3rd I turned 21. Is this the time where I become witty when people start asking my age and I tell them "well a young lady never tell her age?" or should I just now refer myself as an 'Twenty year old something' either way I am thankful for the person that I have become. I am definitely a work in progress, stubborn but I am definitely a work in progress.

I love to think that being a 20 year old was a great year. This is once again the time where I reflect about the last 12 months and tell you that "i've learned so much about myself" but this time I think I've learn so much about my surrounding...and fine I've learn things about myself as well.
Here is the list...please feel free to add more :)
I am hilarious when I choose to be.
I tend to take it as my weakness that I love hard but remembering Christ on the cross I can't help but remembering to stay strong though it's not easy.
I no longer look at the guys who approach me as a threat and I am a better girl for that.
I learned the hard way that communication is a must. In the words of John Mayer, please say what you need to say.
The fact that I have earned my Associates Degree shows me that hard work pays off.
I no longer feel silly for telling someone who is close how I feel about them.
Every mistake is a lesson learn.
I am the leader of my heart.

In the words of my mom "Je cherche faire la paix avec tout le monde"
I am learning to make peace with everyone in my surrounding.

I dreamed of Italy

I've never been to Italy however when with the universal tool that is being photography, I lingered around photographs taken of the city. I close my eyes picturing myself among these beautiful photographs taken, learning to speak gracefully and shopping around. With the inspiration came the time to embrace my watercolor and splash them across my blank Bristol paper.IMG_6695

Well since I can't make it to Italy personally I decided to give in my illustrations another round of this adventure. That bring it to Emma who's an exchange student from France. She wanted to combine all the things that she loves in one piece on this beautiful Sunday such as bicycling the country side of Italy in her heels, visiting the local farm shop, going to buy some fresh flowers, and soaking up the air. We can tell that Emma doesn't need a special event to dress up even if it .

So far she has learn lots of sentence to get great bargains on flowers, fruits and handmade jewelry.

Emma wants you to have a great Sunday

Colors of the wind

I am sure by now that my liking for stripes is publicly known. With fall approaching it will give me plenty of reasons to wear cute sweaters and let us not forget the excuse to finally wear boots. This is what I wore on this mighty Wednesday. IMG_6632

Normally I can the green top underneath by itself but that little darling of sweater was a better companion to jazz it. I use that word quite often don't I. I need to find another word.
